Features:

1.Floating moving Bed Filling: this bio filter media is meant to be moving at all times by air or water current, can be used indoors or outdoors. When using for aquarium sump tanks, you may need an air pump to put some air into water to make the filter media to move, it would be more efficient if there are micro bubbles in the water
2. Easy to Use & Less Maintenance: it's very easy to use the filter media, just pour the media into the sump tank water. You wouldn't have to clean it much if at all, just let the media stay at where they are, then change water regularly
3.Get More Surface Area: a small cylinder inner space is divided into 5 equal parts,the inner and outer walls of the cylinder is fill with raised stripes, this mostly increases contact surface area with water, it's good for biofilm formation and the grow of beneficial bacteri. The K1 filter media is most efficient in moving media bio filter system.

How it works:

Maturing the K1 Media bio-media is important because a delicate eco-system is naturally developing for the bacteria involved in the nitrification process. K1 Media provides the maximum active surface area for the bacteria to colonise, more than other types of static media. It is this process which removes harmful ammonia and nitrite from the water.
